works just fine
I purchased the i5803 accessory handset to add to my existing system. The integration was seamless. I now have four handsets on the system and they all work just fine.
This is the longest I've ever owned a wireless phone system and I'm very satisfied with it.

Enjoying a phone that works!
My family already owned four of these phones in my house and loves them. My sister recorded her own voice so when they ring my parents know its her. I bought one because of the long battery life and compatibility to the other phones in the house. There are newer versions of this phone which have the color and a little more flare but personally I do not need the bells and whistles in a phone.

Great Phones
I have had these phone hand sets for over 10 years but the 2 that are used the most started giving us trouble with the key buttons. I did not want a new phone system and looked for new ones in the store but they do not sell this kind anymore. I was real happy that I found them on Amazon. I put the old ones in the house where we could still use them but not often and replaced them with the new hand sets. Each handset works off the main station. All you have to do is plug the charger in a wall socket for each handset. You only need one phone connection for the base. I now have 6 handsets working in my home. Each one will hold 50 telephone numbers, has caller ID and can be used as an intercom between all the handsets. I love these phones and am so glad that Amazon had them.

It's an ok phone, but I've had better.
I'm not thrilled, and I bought a bunch of them so I'd have a phone in every room, but they are big, clumsy, and don't always do what I ask them to. I liked my old ones better. Oh well. You live and you learn.

Vtech i5800 Series Phones good service at good price
I initially bought one phone and the one base station. Over the years I have added a couple of phones and have been very satisfied with reception, sound and ease of use of the phones. I would recommend the system to anybody. The extra phones work well either downstairs or out in the yard with little or no interferrence. Although I know there is higher tech stuff out their I am satisfied with this product for our needs.

VTech Performance
I purchased three more handsets for my i5800 VTech phone system. I now have five handsets with one base. I own a two story house with a large yard and am able to reach the base from all areas of my property. I also like the ablility to use the intercom functionality and the transfer ability of calls from one handset to another. The speaker phone is also one of the best I have used in a handset. I highly recommend this phone system.

Think twice about this phone
I purchased this phone after seeing that it was the top rated model by Consumer Reports. Though quite happy with the phone's initial performance, the problem comes in that it prematurely decides to stop performing. I ordered a replacement handset after one (of the two) that came with my system died after approx 9 mos. Oddly enough, the replacement handset I ordered was dead on arrival. I sent it back for a refund and decided enough was enough - I switched to a different phone model/manufacturer.

Purchase At Own Risk
This phone has been nothing but a total dud. It's that simple.
Our first one died and my wife loved the ring tones enough
to want to me to buy another one, which I did with the great
hesitation due to the fact that the first one had issues, i.e:
the audio would cut in and out,and a strange delay effect
would randomly occur during conversations.
But I figured my particular phone was probably just a lemon
and that if I got a new one it would work fine. Wrong! After
hooking up and using the new phone (identical model), we soon
discovered that it had the exact same problems as the first.
My advise? There's a thousand and one phones to choose
from out there... don't make this one of them!

VTech i5800 - Expandable Phone System is excellent product
I purchased an additional handset for my VTech i5800-Series Expandable Phone System. I shopped and shopped for a new answering machine and finally decided to buy the VTech Expandale Phone System. It came with an answering machine, base set and two portable phones with chargers. The phones have various programable features and are easy to use, easy to read and work great. This system has proved to be reliable and dependable. Recently I decided to replace an older corded phone I had been using on a phone jack. After using the portable phones, I wanted this convenience throughout my house. I was able to to purchase a third phone and charger from Amazon.com and the purchase process was easy and quick. I received the extra phone and charger not very many days later and have been using it since. Great phone system. If I happen to decide to add another phone, I will certainly purchase another phone from Amazon.com

Works
Works, exactly like it is supposed to. Good battery life, good range, good sound quality. I have 3 of them, I never (well hardly ever) have to go looking for a handset.
I would buy them again.

An excellent telephone
This is an excellent telephone system. I now have 3 handsets for it and the base station and handset are used constantly in the week as I work from home. In particular the hands free loudspeaker phone feature on both the base station and the hand sets works flawlessly, excellent for conference calls.
I strongly recommend this unit.

Excelent for the price!
I had mixed expectations about the quality of this headset when I ordered it, but am glad to say that any negative views I might have had have been washed away as soon as I began to use the headset. Music sounds crisp and clear, and computer gaming sound effects and ambient noise are much easier to make out than through my normal PC speakers. I've yet to experience any negative effects in the various computer games I've tested the headset on. The volume control slider on the cord also works effectively in altering volume in small increments - no more choices between blaringly loud and completely muted.
Similarly, I was worried that he microphone was not working properly because I was not receiving a sound input signal, but as it turns out, the microphone is better than 90% of the more expensive ones I've purchased. Voice reception and playback was very clear with excellent ambient noise cancellation, and sound pickup works perfectly without having to cram the microphone against your lips. Most of the time you can even forget you're wearing the headset.
I highly recommend this headset to anyone looking for an excellent product available at a bargain.

Great Sound but awful comfort
[Strengths] 1. The Best Bass I have ever heard on any headphone, 2. Overall very good sound quality, 3. Decent styling for the price
[Weaknesses] 1. Poor wearing comfort for people with medium-large ears, 2. Limited headphone adjustment, dont fit well for people with large heads
Summary: I bought these for $17 + shipping and they seemed a good deal at that price especially since I was hoping that they would have the same 40mm neodymium drivers as the costlier ahs602i model, which has very good reviews.
And my guess about the above luckily turned out to be true as the sound quality is *awesome*. I have tried the headphone with rock, metal, japanese-percussion, techno, pop, western classical, vocal, jazz etc. genre's and they have performed excellent in each category. So if anyone tell you that these don't sound good, has probably ended up with a defective piece or is hard of hearing !
The microphone is good for using skype, gtalk, yahoo messenger like internet based voice chat software because these softwares automatically adjust the microphone volume to the required levels. However for normal voice recording you would have to turn on mic-boost which adds a hiss to the recording. Voice recording is terrible without turning the boost on... but somehow it works great for internet chat as all of my friends/family could hear me very well.
The only major problem i faced with these headphone is wearing comfort. The head pieces have a closed cup design and are good only for people with small ear's. As a result I can only wear these headphone for a maximum of 1 hour after which they become unbearable and my ear turn pink red. A few dimension to help you: my ears are 6.5cm tip to tip and the ear cups are 8.5cm dia with the inner hollow 4cm dia.
Next time i would be more careful about wear comfort.
Useful Tip: This headsets comes with a 1 yr mfg. warranty but on filling an online product registration it will be extended to 2 years (refer to the included registration card hidden in the packaging).

Great Headphones!
After using them for a few weeks, I just wanted to say that they are a good quality set of headphones. Even though our computer sits next to the tv, when we play games we don't get distracted with the television shows. Great product!

HORRIBLE Battery life
Fresh out of the box, the NiCD batteries can only support about two hours of talk time. That means that if you have home office, you have to charge it at least once during the day or rotate handsets. Talk about a pain in the @**. As such, this design is a failure. F-.

Simplest and most reliable cordless phone
This is my third Motorola cordless. As my older phones (other brands) go bad, I've been replacing them with the Motorola. I couldn't be happier with the range, clairity of sound and reliability.

Great Phone System, Range, and Clarity
I bought this phone and three expansion handsets about a year ago and couldn't be happier. The phones have the clarity of a corded phone. The built in intercom system is perfect. The phones allow you to "name" the handsets as we did (Kitchen, Basement, Bedroom, etc) so you can page based on location rather than remembering numbers. They have a reliable and effective speakerphone built in, as well as jacks for headset (though the speakerphone seems to make this unnecessary.
One problem with these phones is the batteries. In the year that we have had them, the battery life on all of the phones has degraded severely. Often my wife would be on conference calls for one to two hours, and we would go through all four phones. Leave a phone off the charger and in a day it's useless. The only solution was to replace the batteries (which was significantly cheaper and easier than buying new phones and re-programming all the phone numbers). I recommend the Energizer ER-P240, which is a Nickel-Metal Hydride battery and won't develop the Ni-Cad memory effect.
I love that the base station has a place for 4 AAA batteries so that the system can still be used during a power outage.

Unmemorable performance
The phone has adequate range and performance, but the "voice enhancer" has to be manually activated, and frankly makes little difference in sound quality. Additionally, the phone has no memory for numbers, other than last number dialed. I'm surprised to find a phone with so many features, and so few conveniences.
