A warranty program that is NOT worth a cent
Granted I bought a different model, but my experience can be applicable to all that purchase from ViewSonic. My ViewSonic monitor is only a little over a year old, and it already has some dead pixels. Since it's under a 3-year warranty, I sent it in for RMA repair. Not only did it take over a month to get my unit back, but also they had the nerve to ship it back without doing anything about it! All the dead pixels are still there at the exact same locations.
If warranty is part of your decision making factors, be aware that the ViewSonic warranty is worthless.

ViewSonic VG1930 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor
The VG1930 has a big bright reasonably tsght screen when used in the VGA mode. The screen really comes to life in the digital mode. Speakers are not the greatest but adiquet. Good buy for the price.

Read your warranty and ask Viewsonic before purchasing
If you plan on purchasing a viewsonic monitor, be advised. Viewsonic does not warranty their product if you clean it with any non approved cleaning substances. Viewsonic, according to customer service representatives, do not currently have ANY approved cleaning products, and do not recommend touching your screen in any manner for cleaning or color calibration. Touching your screen in anyway constitutes abuse and voids your warranty as customer damage. Viewsonic also does not recommend using ANY color calibration devices on your monitor, as it constitutes customer abuse and is not covered under warranty. I write this because I had a view sonic monitor, calibrated it, and cleaned the "recommended way" and the anti glare coating started pealing off. Even though the products website said it was approved by Viewsonic. Viewsonic said tough it is not our problem that you damaged you monitor, you voided your warranty by cleaning it. I share this as a warning. the monitor was good while it lasted the first month.

GREAT RESOLUTION
I love the graphics capability. I Also like the Ergonomic stand. But the speakers leave a lot to be desired.

A great monitor, but beware of resolution issues
Got this View Sonic as a Father's Day gift. The wide screen offers an entirely new experience.
However, beware that according to the manufacturer, the optimal screen resolution is 1440x900. My pc is about 8 years old and I can't achieve that high a resolution (without, I'm told, investing in a new graphics card).
The resolution I currently have the monitor set at is okay, but the text appears furry or fuzzy. Since mostly what I do is read/write, this is bothersome.

A STANDARD FOR OTHERS TO FOLLOW!!!
OUR OFFICE STAFF AND OUR OWN HOME USERS FOR COMPUTING HAVE BEEN UPGRADING OUR PC MONITORS TO THE FLAT LCD THESE PAST TWO YEARS. WE HAVE TRIED A FEW BRANDS AND WE DECIDED TO STICK TO THE VIEWSONIC FOR ITS HIGH GRADE AND EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE, GREAT DESIGN.

Great screen
I've been using this for about a month now, and it works great! Using VGA mode, it was a lttle flakey if the video cable wasn't securely screwed in (on both ends), but ok after that. Using the DVI connection it works great!
