Customer Reviews for VTech V.Flash Home Edutainment System --- V Tech

So far, so good

I purchased this for my seven year old. She has not had that much experience with any other type of video game system so she is on a learning curve with the joystick, but she really enjoys playing her games so far. She is on the young side of the age grouping for this product and that shows occassionally in the games and does make her stop playing it after a while, but I didn't really get it for her to be on it all the time. It is good fun for a while that also happens to teach her and that was all I was really looking for.
great game system for a good price!

this is a great system that is very kid friendly. easy to set up and easy to play. i love that the disc are incased in a plastic cover that protects the game from dirt scratches and dirty fingers. kids can easily change from game to game. my kids are 6 and 8 just so you know that they need little to no help with this system. I would recomend this to any one with kids 5- 10.
V Flash

My kids love to play with the v flash. It is educational and much better then play xbox or wii for small children.
THE NEXT BEST THING AFTER THE LEAPSTER

I SPENT APPROX. 135.00 TOTAL FOR THE SYSTEM MEMORY CARD AND 4 GAMES SO A PRETTY GOOD DEAL AND ALL IS NEW

It was worth it

Even if this thing has been discontinued, I'm still happy with my purchase. My 7 year old son received this for Christmas last year and LOVES it. To this date, he nor his 9 year old sister have asked for an Xbox, Playstation, or the like; they're happy with this. It's been through a move and has been used and abused by the two kids as well. It has held up very well! The Spongebob game was too difficult for my son and he gave up on it quickly, but Scooby-Doo has been a hit and the kids are really excited to point out that the game teaches them as they go. Hopefully by buying this system, I've managed to also buy myself a few more years before they start asking for the $400 systems....!
Even younger can learn and enjoy this game system.

My four year old saw the advertisements for this game system right before Christmas(2006). I wasn't sure if I should get it for him because of his age but was willing to give it a try since he has proved me wrong before. My son absolutely loves this game system as much as his V. Smile. He plays both of them and still wants more game for each. I was very surprised at the type of things the children learn with this game system. Imagine my surprise to see my four year old locating the continents on a map of the world while playing this game. I highly recommend this game to all parents.
System CANCELLED...no more games being made

I wrote the below review back in November; I was close about this game unit being axed with in one year. Not wise to buy this since less then 10 games were released.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The V Smile was a great idea; games made for our children from 3-8 years old. A great teaching tool & the best available learning system around.

The V Flash however is a misfire;

1. The design of the game (cd format) was made so that the cd would not get scratched good idea? Yes, but the system itself is poorly designed, so much that it takes precise accuracy to place the cd in the system just so the darn cd starts. This system is intended for 6-10 years old, most children this age do not have the patience to deal with such matters in trying to get a game to work.

2. The games, ummmmmm, what games?? Ok, so it is a new system; very few games are available. The $[...] price is just too expensive for what you are getting. The graphics capabilites are somewhere in between a Playstation (1) and a Nintendo 64. Unlike the awesome pack-in game for the V-Smile, the pack-in game for the V-Flash is a great idea, however the scrooling is incomplete; it is difficult to move your character accurately.

3. Going back to ages 6-10 years old; who are they kidding? Vtech wants us to buy a $[...] system and tank on a $[...] per game just so our child will (maybe) play this for 3 years before they get bored with it? This system appears to be a dog & sadly was not thought out well, I think this system will be axed after one year. Can you say S E L L O U T ?

4. At least they got the controller right; very comfortable. Gameplay is also superb & easy to use.

5. It's no accident with the pack-in, Spongebob is a disaster too. I think the quality control team needs to work at these games, several bugs & very unfinished games.

6. I realize that both the PS2 & Xbox are not designed for education only, however; there are a good number of games for both systems that offer education & learning games. Don't forget the same price & far superior graphics + sound.

7. The games DO teach, but it ain't worth it, not even close. You can do better with other choices as mentioned above. Had this systm come out the same time as the V Smile, it might (just might) have made it, but already it is an obsolete system.

My 7 y.o. son loves this!!!

I received this about 3 weeks ago and my 7 y.o. (who is a computer and video game wiz kid) loves this!! It is quite educational and it has held his interest for up to 2 hours at a time. I am very pleased with the design and durrability of the discs is unmatched anywhere in the industry.
