Huge hit with a 7 year old
I gave this as a birthday gift to a seven year old who is interested in astronomy. He absolutely loves it! His mom said that his sister wants to sleep in his room, and she said she's even been tempted because it's just so beautiful in his room when they turn out the lights.

so much fun!
I bought these for my 5 year olds birthday, she absolutly loves them. One month later she still ooohs when the lights go out. They glow much brighter than the ones I picked up elsewhere and they were a fraction of the cost.
There is not enough tack to put them all up, and I am really conservative with it, but no biggie I just bought some from the store. The star charts were pretty confusing and it really would take a good effort to make them so we just placed them all over her ceiling.

A Good Choice
You cannot buy more stars for the money, but the manufacturer needs to put more adhesive in the package. The stars are easy to put up and work well, but you'll likely use up all the adhesive putty well before you get them all up. Overall a solid option for safely and easily putting up stars in your child's room.

It takes some time to put this up...
My kids love the product. As long as you are freelancing the stars it is pretty easy. However, it gets very confusing following the constellation charts that come with the box, so it would help if you had an astronomer buddy to help with this part. Other than that, it seems like a really good product.

Disappointed
The stars may be really nice, but the package I received looked already open. The 3 sheets with stickers appeared as if someone soaked them in water and the package was missing the putty to stick up the bigger plastic stars.

Oh my stars
Very cool! By reading some of the other reviews before I purchased this product I went out and purchased some sticky tack to put these up but I was able to cover both my son (18 months) and my daughter's (5 years)ceiling w/ the tack they gave me. You don't need a bunch of huge gobs per star to get them to stick. I just put a few small goobers of the stuff on each piece and so far they are doing just fine. The stickers are not that great though. When I opened the package a bunch of them had fallen off their sheet and were all over. My daughter had fun sticking them on the back of her door though.

We love this set!!
We bought this for our 2 daughters. Yes, there are little tiny pieces and yes, it does take a long time to put these all up. However, the end result is so great. There are enough stars to cover the ceiling and the walls so that it really does feel like you are out under the stars. The sticker pieces don't hold the glow as long as the plastic pieces but the whole effect in the room is wonderful. It lasts at least an hour. I had a similar set in my son's room when he was younger. That set didn't glow for nearly as long as these stars do. Now at bedtime, we all head into the girls room to enjoy the effect.

Here's an idea
When sticking the stars up on the ceiling, don't use the putty provided, the heat makes them fall down within a few days. So instead use a hot glue gun with silicon it doesn't ruin your stars or ceiling paint and they wont fall off... Thats what i used from the start from previous experience.

Mother of boys who no longer need a night light
The stars are awesome and work excellently. Just keep a bright lamp on them for their first day up, and wow! The whole bedroom, and my twins' room is very large, is illuminated in the night sky. They even made some star concellations so they can pick them out of their new bedroom sky. Great Gift!

Awesome! It's like lying on my back looking up at the stars.
Lots and lots of stars and shapes, big and small. It took me several sessions throughout the day to put all the stars and shapes up, but I was overwhelmed at the results. Granted, the task of putting them up is tedious (yes, I even used tweesers for the smallest stars), but after illuminating them with lights and then viewing them in the dark, it's like lying on my back looking up at the stars. Awesome!!!
The adhesive putty that came with the stars is not very strong, nor is there near enough to put up all the stars. I bought a tube of acrylic caulk adhessive (approx $1.75) and used that to adhere the stars and shapes to my walls and ceiling. It worked excellently.
