Deaf father is pleased
I bought this phone with my father in mind. He is hard of hearing and sometimes doesn't even hear the phone ring. He is happy with the phone, he can see that it is ringing, he has adjusted the volume to where he can hear conversations. My mother is happy with the push-button numbers, she had still been using an old rotary dial and could barely see the numbers anymore. She says she doesn't even need to use her glasses to dial with this one.

uniden cordless phone
I ordered this phone for the features it had and was not disappointed. My husband really likes the way it flashes at the whole top of the phone when there is an incoming call. It was easy to set up & easy to understand the CID system. I also like the ring tone volume. It has a nice sound to it.

OUTSIDE TALKER
I've used Uniden telephone products for many years and always found them to be satisfactory. I purchased the Uniden EZ1996 900 MHz for its Extended Range which has been very good outside. The phone even works inside my neighbors house which is about two hundred fifty feet away. I would purchase another unit for the extended range purpose. Also, the other features of the phone are acceptable. I don't give five stars to anything including fishing "stuff"!

Excellent phone
The phone is magnificent. The best feature abouth this phone is when you have a message waiting for you a bright red light is blinking. I got this phone for my sister also and she loves it as well.

Best phone I've used in years
Our house has seen a parade of cordless phones over the last many years. None have lasted long, either because they just didn't work very well (and I returned them) or they broke after a short while. I still have 10 year old Uniden (speakerphone) in my office that still works like a charm. I have two of the EZI996's and they work perfectly. I couldn't be happier with them.
I really recommend 900 MHz techology. Every single 2.4 and 5.8 GHz phone I tried (about 4 of them) I returned after using for a day. For whatever reason they just don't have the clarity of 900 MHz in the two places I've lived.

Don't like this at all
I own a dog daycare center and we had a difficult time hearing on a 'regular' phone. I purchased this phone in hopes that the amplification would help, it didn't. Basically the phone completely amplifies all the background noise and it made hearing the person on the other end impossible. I guess it would be good if you are just using them in your home or a quiet environment, but NOT in a place with any background noise.

Hello Grandma
I gave this phone to my 96 year old grandmother for Christmas. She is has significant hearing loss and have not been able to have a decent conversation over the phone with her in more than 5 years. What a difference, she understood every word. Believe the reviews, it is that good.

Just what I was looking for.
The cordless phone that I was using next to the computer was small and hard to hold. It was impossible to cradle it on your shoulder to leave your hands free. It also was hard to understand anyone on it. I went looking for something better and found most cordless phones were no better. Then I found the Uniden EZ1996. It was just what I wanted. I have had it for a couple of months now and am very satisfied with it. I don't need the flashing lights when it rings, because I am not that hard of hearing, but the lights don't bother me. I do like the caller-id built into the phone, and the shape suits me to a "T". I recommend the phone.

Does the job very well!
I'm not hard of hearing, just needed a new cordless phone, and this works just so well! I have a lot of interference on my other phones from a powerful radio station, but this phone blocks it all. I love the ease of setting up phone numbers in memory, and all its bells and whistles. Very pleased!

Great Product
This is a great little phone for the bedroom or any other room. You can turn the volume down and the light will flash. Allows your partner to sleep while you know there is a call coming in. Highly recommended

Great for hearing problems
With tinnitus and one third high range hearing loss, the average cordless phone is hard to hear, this lighted and loud ring help as does the clarity of the audio and the audio boost. I would recommend it to anyone with mild hearing problems.

I have been very pleased with the added volume capability for this phone. My hearing loss is minimal, but I was impressed enough that I purchased a second phone for my father who is very hard of hearing. Great price for a phone of this quality.

The voice quality and reception is outstanding. I've tried the 2.4's and 5.8's. This phone leaves them in the dust. I didn't need another phone at this moment in time, but I just purchased another one in the event they stop producing them.

This Phone's Ring Is Amazing!!
I am a semi deaf senior citizen who has been searching for a phone that will let me know when it rings. Gadzooks! This product gets the job done. Two ways. First, the ring tone is low pitched and LOUD. Almost impossible not to hear when a call comes in. Second, there is a brilliant flashing Red Light that accompanies the ring. If you don't hear it, you will see it! Same flashing light tells you there is a voice mail waiting. The receiver volume is also great. Even with my bsd ears, I have not had to go above medium. The price is right, the product lives up to it's hype. I like it!

Terrific product! Purchased for family members and elderly friends who lived alone and had difficulty hearing the normal ring on their phones.
An elderly friend chuckles that the ring is so loud it startles visitors with no hearing problems but is grateful that she's not missing any calls.

Uniden phone for hearing impaired
This phone was purchased as a replacement for a more expensive portable phone purchased for an elderly, hearing impaired person. That other phone was a kluge, difficult to hold, too many buttons and utlimately proved unreliable (lasted 1.2 years before failing). The Uniden is simple, easy to hold and understand with brightly lit numbers. Also, good tactile feeling. The volume and sound quality are excellent. The phone is cost-effective.
