Customer Reviews for iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard for Blackberry and other PDA/ Handhelds --- Think Outside

Great keyboard!

This really is a good keyboard, had a few problems at first pair with the timing and everything, but it really is great! a little bigger than i expected, but not bad at all!
works great

This is a wonderful little tool that will increase your productivity with your smartphone or other pda. I use it almost every day on my lunch breaks. The only problem I have is that the ENTER key gets stuck down every time I close the keyboard. So when I open it I have to gently pry it up with my pocket knife.
LOVE IT!!!

I'll keep this short and sweet. I use this keyboard with a Cingular 2125 Smartphone (Windows Mobile) and absolutely love it! I bought my phone specifically without a built in keyboard to save valuable space on my hip when using it for day to day tasks. While I do send emails, I use my phone mostly to check email more than to send it. Occasionally I do though need to send a long one and when I do I am SO THANKFUL to have this keyboard now. It was very easy to configure, has excellent range and excellent ergonomics. Folds up amazingly small and the carry case is invaluable. This is designed to work with many phones though so occasionally there is a function or two I need to still hit on the phone itself but hey, even if ALL it did was type I'd be 100% satisfied.
Good product

I liked it when it came out of the box. I am sure it will take some time to get use to it. installed it in a flash. However folding/unfolding requires delicate handling. Very convinient folded size especially with a carry pouch. I am using it with Dopod U1000 along with igo mouse.
awesome product!

I love this keyboard. It was inexpensive, very compact, and works great. I bought it to use with my Nokia N800. Love it!
Buyer Beware

I purchased this keyboard because of a business trip. It was for the Blackberry 7290, and it does not work with this model. It would be nice to see some more specifics on what models it supports; especially since it says it supports Blackberry right in the title. Customer service was not great either. I asked about receiving a refund for shipping in addition, and never got a straight answer. Feel free to take your chance, but, personally I would rather buy it somewhere else like I did and pay a few extra dollars.

Excellent product, great price

This is an excellent product. It works exceptionally well with my t-mobile MDA. The price is outstanding. However, please be advised; The reason why this product is so cheap is because it has been discontinued by the company. So its a question if it will be compatible with newer mobile OS's. The downsides to this product is: Its not durable and the keyboard has all the keys but its very complex. Other than that, grab this before its gone.
Convenient and Compact!

I have an older PDA (Dell Axim X50) and this keyboard works great! The connection is Bluetooth and was easy to set up. It is compact when folded up and very light, yet feels fairly sturdy and responsive when typing.
Works with PS3

Not only does this work with my Sprint HTC Touch Windows Mobile 6 phone, It works with my PS3 as well. My plan is to use this for my Home Theater PC (HTPC) as well.

Includes two energizer batteries so you can start typing right away.

It's perfect. I do my research before I buy anything... and this fit the bill. Easily paired with my phone and PS3. Small, lightweight... If you need/want a portable bluetooth keyboard, This is it.

Great BT Keyboard

The iGO bluetooth keyboard works great. The only complaint is the extreme left and right tips a little when typing.
IGO STOWAWAY KEYBOARD

I WAS DISAPOINTED IN THIS AS IT DID NOT CLEARLY STATE WHAT IT WAS COMPATIBLE WITH. I BOUGHT THIS AS A GIFT FOR A FRIEND WHO HAD T-MOBLE SIDEKICK PHONE AND IT WOULD NOT WORK ON IT. THANK GOODNESS AMAZON DID REFUND IN FULL. LOOKED LIKE A GOOD IDEA THOUGH.
A Fine travel keyboard

The keyboard works very well with my Samsung i-760. The bluetooth is instant (no delay) and the battery life is also very good. compact when folded, but nice button size when unfolded. The detachable stand is also very cool. I paid 29.95 for it and it was well worth every penny.

Works With Nokia 770

This keyboard works well once you get it paired. In order for it to work, you need to download and install a Bluetooth plugin on your 770. This is where I found the plugin and instructions, http://770.fs-security.com/maemo-bt-plugin
Great product, but incompatible with my Blackberry

I have to return this as I've bought a replacement (not nearly as sleek or with nearly as good an overall user feel) that is compatible with my company Blackberry. It would be helpful in place of "words with most newer Blackberry's" to include a specific list.
Great Product

I recently bought this keyboard. It looks cool and it makes using your phone a lot easier. I travel by train a lot and it is nice to be able to surf the web and type with my Smartphone. I actually use my phone for web browsing a lot more now that I have a keyboard. Also, I can type word documents and edit them later. The only issue I have is that you have to type the function keys to get at the #'s it isn't a huge deal but it does get annoying.
Good Value but limited by drivers

I bought this to go with a nokia 770. I know the nokia isn't one of the 'supported' devices. It works ok as a generic keyboard since the nokia will pair correctly and can accept keyboard input over a serial BT link. It's just that many of the special functions do not work. For those, you need special drivers and there are no special drivers for the nokia at this time. For $30, it's a great value. I'll keep it to use on future BT devices that I might buy later. The form factor is also great. It folds up thin, comes with a nice zippered case, has a detachable device stand, runs on two AAA batteries. So it's easy to put in a pocket.
Why did it have sticky labels on the keyboard?

I ordered two of these keyboards. Both came with hard to remove sticky labels on the keys. It took a concerted effort to remove all the residue. My two nerds were very unhappy.
Very Handy

Use it for my Nokia N95-3 and it works very well.
A bit bulky since its not really pocketable but fits in any bags for easy transport.
Great for using it on airplanes since it is small and will not take up the entire table.

Some keys are very touchy since I noticed that the "E" button will press twice.

All in all a very nice product!

bluetooth

Great product innovation. Instant hookup with my Nokia N810 portable pc tablet. Worked perfectly. Very Cool!
Perfect for Nokia S60 mobile phones and N810/800/770 internet tablets.

How many of us have to make that decision between a Blackberry (full keyboard) type device or a phone that actually works well and is comfortable to carry in a shirt pocket? This little keyboard actually makes my Nokia N-series phones easier to use for e-mail and messaging than the Nokia E-series devices that have a full keyboard.

I've tested this with:
Nokia phones: N73, N75, N76, N80, N81, N82, N93, N93i, N95
Nokia internet tablets: 770, N800, N810

It works well with all of them. It worked well enough that I gave away my Nokia BT folding keyboard and ordered a second one of these.

Why only 4 stars? I would actually prefer it to be a bit taller and have an extra row of keys rather than doubling up the numerals. Also, the sticky tape wrapped around the device showing you how to open it for the first time is FAR TOO STICKY; it took me 45 minutes with Goo-Gone to get rid of the thing.
