One of my son's favorites
This is one of my son's favorites - going on a year now. He plays it a few times per week. Not only is it fun, I find it a bit educational. We count the squares as we're setting up the rows, and there is strategy involved. I knocked a star off because of the noise factor - perhaps the hammers could have a little padding to make them less noisy?

Just as fun as the original
I had this game as a kid and it was a blast..and it still is!My daughter and I have been playing this since she was 2(she's 4 now and loves it more than ever). It has tought her how to take turns and the laws of physics,on some level(I can see the wheels turning in her head as she figures out what blocks she can hit without knocking out the whole row). She is even quite patient as we put the ice cubes in the tray. It's kind of annoying that it takes 25 seconds to knock out the cubes and 3 minutes to put them back. The hammers are a little flimsy(one of ours is a little bent). It really is fun though.Who doesn't like beatin' the heck out of something with a hammer?

Don't waste your money.
This is another that the kids all want when they see the commercial. It looks like it would be a blast. Don't bother. It's just not fun. It's hard for kids to get the ice cubes in right & the little hammers are junk. With very little use, a couple of ours actually broke.
I either put this away permanently or I threw it away. I can't remember which.
This is junky garbage.
Don't buy this.

Great "taking-turns" game for toddlers
My toddler loves this game. It taught him the concept of "taking turns". He was able to understand the dynamics of the game with ease. The only thing is that it takes awhile to set up the game: to many pieces. Other than that, the game is actually engaging and fun for our little one.

A little fun with a little help
The kids love to bang away at the "ice" until the little guy falls through... about two times. Then the novelty wears off and they're ready to move onto something else. A fun classic for short term entertainment. Requires adult/older child to put ice together... too difficult for young children.

Still fun after all these years!
When I learned that "Don't Break the Ice" is still available, I thought that my four year old grandaughter would be the right age for it about now. Our grown children, including her mother, used to enjoy this game when they were small. I ordered it through Amazon to avoid running from store-to-store to find it before Christmas. The four year old immediately LOVED the game, as did her two year old sister who cheered when the man fell off the ice. The now-grown aunts and uncles still enjoy the game, as do the mom and grandparents. The old strategies all came back the moment the game was unwrapped. The pieces do fit a bit tightly into the frame as it is still new, and the little man is more difficult to sit onto the ice than before. Also, the set-up game can't be put away in the box as with the older version. There is an extra piece included in case one is lost. This game is still well worth the price for hours of entertainment.

Childhood memories
This version is just like the one I had when I was a kid. My 5-year-old and I have a great time playing it. It was difficult for her to put the ice in -- at first. But, now she has the hang of it and does it all by herself. She still needs help inserting the skater. Good game for rainy day fun.

Basic, fun, simple, strategic
Don't break the ice is a favorite classic, and quite addicting even in this time period. You begin by turning what looks like a mini-table over and inserting what looks remakably like ice-cubes into it.
Out of all the mini icecubes, there's one that is equivelent to four normal icecubes. This is where a person rests.
The object of this game is to take a mini tap-hammer (made of plastic, so don't worry ;) ) and you lightly (or roughly) tap out a piece of ice. This ice might just fall, or it could make some other small icecubes fall. Or, if you really mess up, then it will send the person on the large ice cube crashing down!
Setup only takes a few minutes, and this is a fairly quick game, and that's all a part of it's charm.
Overall, this is an awsome classic!

Great for all ages
I bought this game for Christmas for our 2 yr old and 4 yr old. My husband and I grew up playing this and it was too much fun not to buy for our kids. The best part is both of our kids can play as it is easy for even for our youngest. I'm glad they still make a great toy that isn't battery operated.
