Garmin A/C charger
I am glad I brought the charger but I felt it should have came with the GPS because you do need it especially if your cigarette lighter does not work to charge the battery, you will have to charge it at home. So it came in handy.

AC Adapter Review
Great accessory! I do not use too often as I am not traveling as much as I thought, but I have friends that did not buy the adapter and said they wish they had. The lost battery life in the unit after several years and think if they had the charger would have extended. Great price!

Love It...
I purchased this months ago for my Garmin C530 street pilot. It is the best thing I could have done since the lighter charger doesn't work so well. I have used it going back and forth from CT to PA and throughout the state.

It DOES work
I ordered this (Item model#010-10618-00 AC Adapter Cable) before I saw the negative reviews. When it came, and before I opened it I called Garmin. Even though the C530 is not listed, (and yes it DOES say "this accessory is not supported" when you plug it in), here's what Garmin told me.
"When you plug it in and get the message, turn the unit off with the power button on the side. As long as it say "charging" on the screen, it's working." I've charged my unit several times, it works fine.
For the price (currently a little over $14), it's a GREAT buy. Charge in the house, and you don't have to keep it plugged in while using it in the car. Don't be afraid to order this for the Street Pilot C530.

I really like the idea of charging the Garmin in the house and not depending on the "cigarette' charger, so the AC charger was a welcomed addition to the GPS!
