Customer Reviews for Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Extreme Cookie Monster --- Fisher Price

Worth it if under $20

I got a super deal on this around Christmas - I think it was only about $13! It was definitely worth $13. At first it made my one year old cry. I think she thought there was something wrong with Cookie. But then she got used to him and she loves him. He made my husband and I laugh like crazy the first time we tried him out, especially when he says at the end "Oh, THAT GOOD ONE!" I agree with others; he is a big battery hog. I haven't changed out the batteries yet, so he can't move around as well right now. But he does still bend over and shake a bit, and his voice is still good. So it doesn't really matter to a one-year-old! I am glad we got it, but might not be as thrilled if he had been over $20 (as he is as of this writing.)
Cookie Monster made us smile!

i gave this toy to my goddaughter who's a year old - at first she was hesitant because of the tumbling action - but the laughing sound and the voice of cookie monster made her smile - and us adult swoon! Soon after the first jitters, she was already playing with it and enjoying it! Her parents and I grew up on Sesame Street and its wonderful to see that it still has a wonderful effect on the present generation.
Not impressed

My son got cookie monster for his bday he recieved elmo last year for xmas I was not at all impressed with either of them and he could care less about either of them. Overall as a collectors peice Elmo was okay but to just buy and play I would hvae never purchased it personnaly
Cute Toy

We got this for my 14 month old son for Christmas. He loves the toy and just giggles and giggles, but it doesn't hold his attention long. When I start to play it by pushing his tummy, all my son does is push him down. It was cute, but on the shelf it sits. Cookie has a problem with his moves quite a bit. He says all the things he is doing, but the moves dont really correspond all the time. Sometimes he has a hard time going down and rolling from side to side. Not really sure why, even with new batteries.
Doesn't Work like advertised.

This is supposed to lay down roll side to side and then stand up. I have traded this toy in twice at a local store and none of them worked properly. Plus, it scares my 1 year old.
Fun toy

I purchased this for my 2 year old son who loves Cookie Monster. It was a big hit. It is fun to play with but not very educational. It is very simular to the tickle me Elmo in actions. It does use up batteries so I would suggest keeping extras on hand. It is not a soft toy, but that doesn't seem to bother my son who will nap with it. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
Cookie Monster

My daughter drags this toy with her where ever she goes and laughs everytime she plays with it. I am glad I bought it, and it was deeply on sale, so that was an added bonus!
Average fun, but cute.

I like the toy. My ten-month-old is afraid of it right now, but I think he will like it better when it is more age-appropriate for him. It is a little smaller than I expected...I think it is smaller than the TMX Elmo. Other than the size, it is what I expected.
Very amusing.. concerned about batery life

I bought TMX Cookie Monster for my God-son for Christmas. I was soo incredibley amused by Cookie's antics that I gave him to my God-son 3 weeks prior to Christmas. Cookie has the funniest voice & movements I've ever witnessed! My 1 & ONLY concern is Cookie requires 6 AA batteries ( a lot right?!) but when his tummy is pressed repeatedly (as if a 3 y.o. child would do) Cookie's batteries were dying within 12 hours! Love him, highly recommend him, just be sure to have plenty of AA's around so you don't end up with an upset toddler! :-)
Eh......

I (i mean santa lol) got this for my daughter for christmas, it doesnt seem to always work properly the words dont go along with the motions, n sometimes when he "sits down" he rolls all the way back. My daughter is currently scared of it lol so maybe when she gets a lil older she'll like it! Kinda bummed that it doesnt work all that great though. Not to mention it requires 6 AA batteries yikes!
Sure to make you smile!

I bought this for my 1 year old. Actually I have to admit I bought this more for me and my wife. It is so funny and is sure to put a smile on your face. While my daughter is too young to know how to make him laugh she gets a kick out of him every time.

I haven't had any mechanical problem on my unit to this point, about 3 weeks of use.

Highly reccomended. By far the best of the three. Ernie is pretty good too, the Elmo is just annoying in my opinion.

Amazon has dropped the price on this...

on this, and the other two tickle me toys considerably, more than enough to make it worth applying for the post-price proctection.
Solid laughs, some flaws and clunky construction. NOT a plush toy!

TMX Cookie Monster will make you laugh. His motions and voice should give almost anyone the giggles. He has two actions, one short and one long, both triggered by simply touching his tummy. The short action is a few laughs accompanied by some shaking. It's hardly impressive. The second response is what TMX Cookie Monster is all about:

Cookie Monster begins to laugh. He shakes and then falls over backwards. He sits back up and tries to control his laughter. He gets a second bout of laughter, rolls over onto one side and chuckles and kicks his legs. He then rolls onto his back, has a few more laughs, rolls onto his other side, then rolls to his back, and in a very funny effort, sits up after a few tries. He then stands and the motion ends.

When it works properly, it is adorable and people love it. The problem is that it doesn't always work as intended. Sometimes when he intends to sit up, the motion is so powerful that he tips over onto his face. From this point on, none of the motions follow the proper audio cues. If he does manage to sit properly, the other issue I encountered was when he's on his right side and tries to roll onto his back. One leg kicks back quickly and the momentum (as well as a balance peg in his back) is supposed to roll him over. Often this fails as the motion isn't adequate. These problems occur even on completely flat, hard surfaces as instructed. Of small help is a balance-sensing mechanism: Cookie Monster knows how he is positioned and will make several attempts to stand upright before stopping all motions. It is reasonably successful at this.

The toy is surprisingly heavy. The feet are very hard and contain the 6 batteries necessary. The motors I assume are in the legs/hips. The arms do not move. In sharp contrast, the body and arms of the toy feels like a pillowcase strung over a broomstick. The blue covering material hangs loose all over and you can feel the rounded arm pegs and one very long peg off-center in his back. Falling on this peg could be very painful, and there is no cushion material inside the toy's body at all. The head is the only part that seems to have solid stuffing.

This toy is meant to be watched and laughed at. It is too heavy and hard to be handled like a stuffed animal.

Finally, the eyes do not move. This was a little bit of a disappointment to me, as Cookie Monster is known for his googlie eyes.

With only one worthwhile motion (the two alternate equally), some problems with that motion, and the seriously non-plush nature of the toy, I don't know how much I could recommend this for a child's play toy.

Poor quality

We have only had it a week and it already doesnt sit down and roll around half the time it just stands there.
TMX COOKIE MONSTER Scared MyTwo Year Old Twin Girls

My husband and I bought the TMX cookie monster for our twin girls' 2 year birthday. We loved the toy, and thought they would think the same, especially since they love Sesame Street. We were horrified when we opened him up, showed him to the girls, and it became an instant tear-fest. They are extremely scared of this toy, would not even go in the same room where he was. They are pretty tough gals, not easily frightened, but the entire TMX toy line is just not for them. I urge you to test this toy out at a store with your children ahead of time, make sure they like it, before you have to go through all the shipping hassles to send him back, in case they don't like him. Good luck.
bought it for my great-granddaughters

I bought two of these for my ggds for Christmas--not Xmas yet, so who knows if they'll like them? My youngest ggd isn't even born yet (due Feb). I can say shipping was fast and they arrived in good condition.
BTW, those star ratings are completely off the top of my head, for the reasons stated above.

TMX Cookie Monster

I got this toy for my son's birthday. I never saw the original Elmo from the Nineties. So, I can not make a comparison. I can tell you that this thing is a battery hog! If the batteries are not fully charged "Cookie" will not go through all his moves and has trouble getting up. On the other hand, when his batteries are fully charged, he almost seems to be too revved up. He sometimes falls back down after he gets up. But, he will stand up again if he falls. All in all, this toy does make my son happy. He laughs at it a lot. So do I, sometimes. Just be ready to change the batteries more often than you do with most toys. And that is six (yes six AA) batteries, not two or even four.
FIRST TIMERS BUY ELMO THIS DOESNOT WORTH IT

THIS VERSION OF TICKLE ME SERIES ONLY GETS TICKLED FROM TUMMY AND THATS IT. ORIGINAL ELMO TICKLES FROM 3 PARTS FROM TUMMY, UNDER THE CHIN AND FEET. THIS IS NOT AS LOUD AS ELMO. ALSO HAS LESS MOVES THAN ELMO. IF YOU ARE COLLECTING IT IS ONE THING BUT IF THIS IS FIRST TIME BUY ELMO. I WOULD RECOMEND ELMO ELMO ELMO
Better than Elmo, dare I say!We

We LOVE the TMX Cookie! We already had original Tickle Me Elmo and TMX Elmo and now....Cookie just joined the family! We don't even have kids yet! But crack up at the laughter these monsters put out!!!!! It is sooo fun and dare I say Cookie is funnier than Elmo!!!!!!!!!! Sorry lil Red dude! We love when our friend's kids visit and they can play with them all! Can't to get Ernie too! You must have the whole collection!
