Baby loves it!
This thing is great! My 5 month old baby laughs with delight every time it gets turned on, and he's learning how to turn it on by himself so he can soothe himself in the middle of the night. Sure, the battery pack is a pain- but it's not as bad as the reviews say- just have a Phillips head on hand. It's a pretty miraculous toy! It calms down our little guy when nothing else will! Perfect for crabby, half-tired little guys! Get one!

Broken after only 6 months
We had an older model of this aquarium for my son that we got in 2004. It broke after only a couple months, and fisher price sent out a new one after I called and sent the broken one back. The replacement lasted about 1 1/2 years before it also stopped working. Not too bad. This newer model that was given as a gift for my daughter who was born in Aug 2007 isn't nearly as fun and has again broken after only 6 months. Both models ate batteries like candy, and I would like to say "forget it, I'm not replacing it," but the truth is, both my kids LOVED their aquariums and helped put them to sleep and entertain them on a daily basis. I guess I have to look at it as an evil neccessity and will probably again replace this new aquarium!

Rockin' Toy
I bought this when my baby was 3/4 months. The music helped him soothe himself to sleep and he gets memorized by the moving objects. Now at 7 months, he doesn't want to give the rolling red crab a rest. It's a very cute toy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that I had to make creative adjustments to make it fit right on the crib, because his crib had curves not like a tradition one. And while I was trying to make to fit, it was a bit annoying having to unscrew to take batteries out then unscrew again to unmount the toy then again to mount it.
The Bottom line is: it's a great toy and I would buy it again.

Loud
I now understand why this was upgraded by the manufacturer. Though the toy is appealing to my child the internal parts are extremely loud. This is not a toy that will help put the child to sleep because of the volume of the internal parts.

Works erratically
My 6-month-old really likes this and I had no trouble installing it in her crib. However, it does not work consistently, sometimes the music plays for five minutes, sometimes for one minute, sometimes I get lights sometimes no lights. No matter which setting I choose, it seems to just randomly pick how long to stay on. It is very unusual for it to play continuously for more than a couple of minutes. It is fairly heavy and bulky so not worth returning. If you really want to buy one of these, I'd get it at a store where you can easily exchange it if the music stops working.

Good entertainment
I got this for my 8 week old grandson. He loves it. Everytime I lay him down for a diaper change, I have to start the music for him. He becomes quiet and looks at the moving creatures. Much easier to change him then.

A must have for the baby or toddler
My son loves this toy, when he's really fussy I play the musical aquarium and he relaxes much faster. I would definitely recommended to any one with a baby or toddler.

My son loves this toy!
I agree with the reviewers who said that the battery pack is a pain, but only when attaching to the crib. Once it is attached, changing the batteries is simple. Also, if you use the full motion, sounds and lights setting everyday, you will be changing the batteries about every two months. However, my son has loved this toy for two years now and refuses to give it up. We have made up little songs to the tunes, and he asks me to sing every night. It made the transition to his new room and big boy bed easy. And I also take it on vacation so he has something familiar in his bed. So, I would say that this toy is worth the extra effort for my son's enjoyment.

Perhaps not quite as good as the old model, but still great.
The battery issue is not a big deal. Where the old model needs to be completely removed from the crib to replace batteries, this model has the battery pack on the outside of the crib. The crib itself would need to be pulled out for replacement, but I have always had to pull out the crib to detach the old style one (I have three kids, two in cribs). Just incorporate the battery changing with sheet changing. The aquarium itself is fun to watch and my son seems to enjoy it. It is his cue to go "night-night." It gets turned on when he goes down for naps and bedtime.

Fish don't move!
My 3 month old enjoys the lights and bubbles but the fish get stuck on the track and don't move around the corners. This happened straight out of the box. I called Fisher Price and they said if I return the straps they'll send a new one in 6-8 weeks. I have to pay for shipping to return the straps. It always stinks when something is broke right out of the box! At least the bubbles and music keep him entertained for now. I wouldn't recommend this unless they fix the track. I also agree that the batteries are a pain to replace b/c of screws. It seems like many baby toys are moving over to this. As if parents have time to hunt for screwdrivers on top of all else we need to do! A plug in version would be great. This item takes 3 D batteries.

Don't let negative reviews turn you away
I was a little weary about purchasing this with all the negative reviews, but with the twelve dollar price tag I had to pick it up. This thing honestly took me literally less than three minutes to install. I don't know what these reviewers are talking about, I'm not trying to be rude I just don't honestly know. It could be possible the resolved what these people's issue was, but anyways, It's a great product that's not hard to install and is incredibly cheap on Amazon, pick it up.

Is pretty good, weird attachment method
I can understand why they attempted to make the batteries easier to access, but really it doesn't buy much by having the pack on the outside of the crib. Installing it was much more complicated than the earlier version (although still manageable). This toy never made it to my 9 month old's crib because my 3 year old snagged it and likes to play with it (he had one when he was very young, but I didn't think he'd remember it, I guess he did!). It stands up by itself on the side of his twin bed up against the wall because of the new battery pack, so I guess that's a benefit?
The movement of the fish seems louder than the previous version, but not too loud. The light on this one is not too bright or dim. All in all, its good, I liked the original version better though :)

You Have to Screw the Battery Pack to Toy to Prevent from Falling Out
I believe for $11.99, this toy is a good value, although I would not pay much more for it. To keep the battery pack attached to the toy, you have to tighten the four small screws inside the battery compartment to the toy before inserting the batteries. Now, whether this is acceptable to you or not, that's a different issue. I personally don't mind since it isn't something I'm doing once a week or even once a month.
The one I received wasn't producing any bubbles. I'm presuming the pump that produces bubbles is either defective or just too weak.
My daughter is 19 months is still enjoys it. She likes watching the fish
go around and she has fun turning on and off the music. I also had the earlier version, which she also enjoyed, but I can't say with any amount of certainty which one is better.

Awesome product
This is an awesome product. We actually had this for our first cild born 2003. He loved it. We have 6 month old twins and we bought this as they were kinda restless in their cribs at nap time and bed time. This aquarium does wonders. The boys are usually asleep or very sleepy by the time we put them to put, but some nights they are restless, we flip it on and it within 10-15 minutes they are sound asleep. This a product must have for any parent of one child or multiples. You can't go wrong with it!

Love this crib toy!
I love this crib toy. I bought one for my new little grandson and he lays and talks and laughs at it all the time. He loved it so much that I went out and bought another one for the granddaughter that is on her way any day now. Hope she enjoys it as much as my grandson does!

Awesome Toy!!
We purchased this toy for my daughter when she was about one month old and she absolutely loved it. The design is perfect and convenient for changing the batteries without having to remove the entire unit from the crib. We had no problems installing the battery pack or attaching it to the crib. It's pretty self-explanatory but, if you can't figure it out, it does come with instructions in English and Spanish. The unit has a mode switch with four different modes, including but not limited to an off position if you get tired of hearing it. My daughter is now 13 months old and still plays with it. The music is very soothing, the lighting is not too bright, and many of the complaints people have are user errors and nothing more.

Bubbly Bedtime Friends
Bedtime behavior is so touch-and-go during baby's first and second year --- and sometimes comforting "aids" can really help everyone get some much needed sleep. We received an earlier version of this aquarium when our son was 6 months old and he (as well as his baby sister) ADORED it! We always knew when our kids were awake, from that, oh-so-familiar, yet not so annoying music. It attaches to the crib, and parents, or baby, or toddler can choose whatever setting is preferred or necessary --- including different varieties of soothing lullaby music, bubble sounds, soft-glowing lights, or moving fish. There is a volume button (thank goodness), and three settings, depending on what kind of stimulation is needed: music only; music plus soft glowing lights; and music plus lights, bubbles, and moving fish. Little explorers' hands can also press or turn to make some of the marine friends open, spin, etc.

This is for young children
I purchased the Ocean Wonders for my son's 2nd birthday and he was not interested at all. It was easy to install and I'll keep this for the next child :-)

Great product but horrible attachment design
My DD loves this crib toy. We have both versions and this new version looks better than the older version but is definitely more difficult to put together and the battery attachment is a pretty bad design. So overall, it's wonderful for the baby but a pain for the parents!

Very good!!
The musical aquarium's met all my expectations! I gave it as a gfit to my son in low, and he loves it! it's been a wonderful entertainment before bed time and right after he wakes up!! It relaxes him with the melodies and lights, and amuses him with the buttons, spinning crab, and the flutter ball!! Great toy.
